The unit is specifically designed for lighting works of art such as tapestries, sculptures, or mosaics, and can also be used as picture rail lighting in galleries. The rotatable beams allow for extremely fine adjustments to be made in both the pan and tilt axis. The BT10 can also find a place on stage as a useful light source. With its adjustable beam, the floodlight can be used overhead, on the side of the stage or proscenium arch, or even built in to part of a set The unit is designed to be used with a 230/240V transformer, or it may be connected in series with another BT10 unit to create a 230V load.
