Motor Control Console

Chain-Link is a compact console for controlling up to eight motors.

Whilst the product is optimised for hoist control, it can be used for control of any fixed-speed applications. Chain-Link offers the operator 24 pages of ten-position cues, each cue containing any combination of motors. Programming is achieved by setting the motors to the desired position, and recording this as a cue. Manual operation is always active, allowing adjustment during a show.

Perhaps the most innovative feature is the ability to accurately position control motors without encoder feedback. Most control systems require motors to be fitted with encoders in order to sense position. Chain-Link simply monitors the amount of time a given motor is in motion. From this, the current position is calculated and displayed in metric units. Encoder inputs are available as an option.

The product is designed to be operated as either a desk top console, or with the addition of the optional rack mounting kit, fitted to a 19 inch rack enclosure. The LCD display and soft keys ensure that the unit is easy to operate. Motor activity is shown on a large three colour LED display.
