The Capture USB DMX Box is the affordable plug-and-play option for easy visualisation with any DMX512 lighting console.
The Capture DMX Box features a USB port for connection to laptop or desktop PCs and accepts two universes of DMX512 input. This means that Capture software can be used to visualise the DMX data from any lighting desk, independant of its Ethernet capability.
The DMX Box is fully plug and play compatible with Capture 2005 and v3.0 software and allows configurable termination for each port.
Requirements
- Windows 2000 or XP
- A (high power) USB port and a connection cable
- Capture 3.0 installed when connecting the box to the computer
Operation
- Plug in the DMX Box to a USB connector: Windows will automatically find its drivers.
- Start Capture 3.0. After initializing the box (LEDs flashing), it will be ready for operation.
- Open the providers configuration in Capture (Tools / Providers). Right-click on the "Capture DMX Boxes" entry and select configure. This will display a list of all connected Capture DMX Boxes.
- If you have several boxes, you can identify each box by right-clicking on an entry and selecting "Identify". This will flash the LEDs of the corresponding box.
- For each port you wish to use, by right-click on the port and select "Input" so that it is checked.
- Connect a DMX source to the DMX Box.
