CCT Freeway Dimming Module CCT Freeway Controller

Freeway Radio Dimmer Module

Freeway Single Preset / Group Desk
6way radio controller

Freeway is a radio-controlled wireless lighting system representing the latest integrated radio technology. No more bulky dimmers taking up space or dangerous control wires running across floors!

The Freeway system is a complete wireless lighting control system utilising the 433MHz radio frequency. The Freeway Desk can be used to control up to 6 radio channels (or 'groups'), or a DMX512-radio convertor can be attached to any standard lighting desk for control of up to 12 channels. The Freeway dimmer can be attached to any luminaire rated up to 1000W, or the Freeway 4T Bar can be attached to virtually any lighting stand, or even hung from a conventional lighting bar.

The main features of the Freeway system are highlighted below.

  • Licence-free 433MHz radio signalling
  • Up to 1000w per dimmer
  • Single supply mains cable
  • Control from up to 100 metres
  • Distributive dimming on any luminaire
  • Durable, flexible, scaleable solution
  • One man installation
  • Integrated four way tee-bar option
  • Individual dimmer units available
  • DMX-radio convertor available

Freeway Single Preset/Group Desk

This 6 way single preset/group desk with master controller allows an unlimited number of dimmers to be grouped together at varying light output levels. This hand held unit does not require control cable between the Freeway dimmers and desk. The desk can be powered by battery - so for set up purposes it does not even need to be connected to the mains supply. For show use it should be plugged into a low voltage power supply which will also recharge the battery.

Freeway Unit Dimmer

Individual 1000W dimmer units can be mounted on the yoke of each spotlight or any adjacent location. CEE 22 input and outputs on each unit provide power. The unit dimmers have similar programming and operating facilities as the 4T Bar below.

Freeway 4T barFreeway 4T Bar

The Freeway 4T is a 1.25 metre long tee-bar incorporating 4 x 1000W radio dimmers for use with any standard spotlights. One cable provides all mains power to each of the four dimmers. Each dimmer has a single flush mounted socket for powering the luminaire (this socket is available in most European versions). The 4T is fitted with a UK 13A plug as standard, but can be supplied with any single phase mains plug on request.

One button on each dimmer selects both the desk channel address and the level of the dimmer. Dimmers can be assigned as individual channels or grouped at varying levels on a single channel. Radio signals are transmitted between the desk and the dimmers. The 4T bar operates either with the Freeway six channel/group desk or, when used with Freeway DMX/12, to any standard DMX desk, eliminating the need for conventional control wiring.

The 4T bar will attach to virtually any telescopic stand with the luminaries positioned either above or below the bar. The 4T Bar can also be hung from a lighting bar or any position where power is available without the need for control cabling.

Freeway DMX/12 Radio Convertor

Freeway DMX/12 ConvertorFreeway DMX/12 is a plug-in attachment which connects to any DMX512 control desk, allowing 12 channels to become radio controlled. All channels on the desk (including those taken up by Freeway DMX/12 Convertor) continue to output standard DMX512: thus radio and DMX can be used on the same channel. Freeway DMX/12 can be plugged anywhere into the DMX daisy chain.

The DMX/12 unit has been designed to add to existing rigs where mains power is readily available, but it is difficult or simply inconvenient to run DMX lines. It may also be used as a complete system in conjunction with a simple 12 way DMX desk, by way of the radio control option, thus saving the cost of cable and installation labour.
