Internet domain extension (suffixes)
Ever wondered where an email has been sent from, or where an internet site is based?
The last couple of letters on the email or the website address - the URL domain extension - signify a category of website, such as commercial (.com) or the country from which the web site originates, such as the United Kingdom (.uk). The following listing defines those last characters.
