The Mentor motion control extension wing was produced as a 'proof of concept' for the expanded console to be known as Mentor/XT lighting desk, and provides direct access to motion control parameters and functions.

The extension wing includes four digital encoder wheels to control an instrument's parameters, each with an LED screen, together with a trackball featuring variable sensitivity to control pan and tilt positioning.

The motion control wing provides 3 keys for the trackball, 10 macros keys, and 18 keys for motion control. Direct access buttons are provided for:

The motion control wing is connected directly to the Mentor desk: no external power supply is necessary.

The wing is now produced commercially, greatly extending the ease of operation on existing Mentor consoles.
