Capture-compatible consoles & softwareCapture software can, of course, be used with any lighting control system that outputs DMX512 data via 5pin XLR connectors, by using the Capture DMX Box. However, some consoles and lighting software can communicate directly with capture using an Ethernet connection, or some other physical link. Below is a reference of lighting control consoles and lighting software that are interconnectable with Capture for live visualisation and programming purposes. See the notes below for additional requirements regarding specific protocols. Lighting control consolesThese lighting control consoles can be connected with Capture 3.0 using an Ethernet link.
Lighting control softwareThe lighting control software below are capable of communicating with Capture, either when run on the same computer or when running on two computers with an ethernet connection. In some cases additional software may be needed.
NotesSome protocols listed above that communicate with Capture require certain additional drivers or intermediary software. These are outlined below. Note 0: Artistic Licence ArtNet driversTo use Capture 3.0 with ArtNet you need to download the ArtNet drivers from Artistic Licence. Note 1: AVAB EthernetAVAB proprietary ethernet protocol supports bidirectional DMX, bidirectional selections and patch transfer to Capture. Note 2: Avolites EthernetAvolites support DMX to Capture using the ACDI and AvoACDIToCITP tools. ACDI can be purchased from Avolites and the AvoACDIToCITP tool is packaged with Capture. In order to use Capture 3.0 with Avolites consoles and simulators you need to purchase and install the ACDI software from Avolites. Note 3: HogPCHogPC "Local link" supports DMX to Capture. See also:
